How We Operate
Our Operational Standards
CQC Registration
Civilian® ambulance services are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). All patient-facing services are subject to regular inspection and comply fully with the Health & Social Care Act 2008.
Clinical Governance
A dedicated Clinical Lead oversees all medical operations. Patient care protocols are reviewed quarterly, aligned with JRCALC guidelines, and subject to clinical audit. All incidents are reviewed within 48 hours.
Crew Qualifications
All crews hold minimum Emergency Care Assistant (ECA) qualification. Paramedics are HCPC-registered. Specialist crews for mental health transport hold relevant Mental Health First Aid certifications.
Vehicle & Equipment Standards
All Civilian® ambulances are fully equipped to NHS specification, checked daily using standardised vehicle checks, and serviced under a strict maintenance schedule. Defibrillators, oxygen, and advanced airway equipment are carried on every vehicle.
Patient Reporting
Digital Patient Report Forms (ePRFs) are completed for every patient contact. Records are stored securely in line with UK GDPR. Handover documentation is provided to receiving facilities at all times.
24/7 Dispatch & Control
Our medical control room operates 24 hours a day. Dispatch is GPS-optimised and response times are monitored against contracted SLAs. A senior clinician is available for remote advice on every shift.

Patient Transport Services
Non-emergency patient transport for hospitals, care homes, dialysis centres, and private clients, including bariatric and high-dependency transfers.
First Response Teams
Rapid-response first responders deployed by cycle, motorbike, or foot to reach patients ahead of an ambulance in congested environments.
Standby Medical Services
Dedicated medical teams on standby at high-risk locations including film sets, industrial sites, motorsport events, and construction projects.
Mental Health Transport
Specialist mental health transport crews trained in de-escalation, Section 135/136 procedures, and safe conveyance of vulnerable patients.
On-Set & Production Medics
Embedded paramedics and EMTs for film, TV, and commercial productions — providing immediate medical response from call time to wrap.
Mass Casualty Planning
Pre-event and live major incident planning with triage team deployment, casualty clearing stations, and multi-agency liaison capability.
